Covid-19 is stimulating online activity and imagination
Here is a process from a Pass It On Liaison in South Africa that uses free online TED Talks for Third Age University lessons.
Dear Early Adopters of the Covid-19 lifestyle: I am happy to have you share my excursion into new types of online meetings. My serendipitous search of the TED site alerted me to a lesson-making tool. TED has a methodology for making lessons for university students – I am sure they must have had U3A in mind!
For example, I have crafted this lesson From Stress to Resilience from a talk given by Raphael Rose in California, USA. View his video presentation here. Click on the words to the right of the video: “Watch, Think, Dig Deeper, Discuss.” A window will open with a question for you and your group to ponder. At our class meeting, we offered and discussed our responses in a fruitful conversation. For more information, contact me at

Dignity Kitchen provides
specially-designed training for people with disabilities and disadvantages, enabling them to make a variety of Singaporean foods and beverages. As a result, they are able to support themselves, live with dignity, and integrate into society. Ten years ago when he turned 50, Mr Kohn gave up a stable career to venture into this unchartered field. Rebecca Choy says she hopes his story will encourage many more Golden Agers to give back to society and start a fruitful second life. View video here.
